How we met. Believe it or not, we met by accident on line.  My friend and I were bored one day and decided to go online and read some of the personal ads. We didn’t write to anyone, we just read some and laughed at how shallow some people could be.  Imagine my surprise the next day when I received two emails from two guys, one of which was Ken.  It turns out that Ken had been online with a friend of his the night before also, saw my ad and decided to write me.

What's that saying, be careful what you wish for?  Should I answer or not answer?  What to do what to do. Well, I wrote one guy and asked him not to write to me again. But Ken’s email seemed too nice and I felt bad, so I wrote back, telling him things he could do in New York, since he was new here. We continued to write back and forth. After about 2 months we exchanged phone numbers, and began to talk to each other on the phone in addition to exchanging emails and instant messaging each other.  It was nice, it was safe, but we were both wondering about the next steps.  Should we take it to the next level?

We finally set a date to meet in person on December 9, 2001. However, we met on December 7, 2001 instead. I was going out with Kent and Anthony for dinner, and they told me I should have invited Ken so he didn’t think I was seeing someone else. I did invite him, but he said he couldn’t. So as we were ready to go, Ken called that he could go after all and he’d meet us. I panicked and gave him the wrong directions and told him when we would meet him. I then ran around with the help of my sister, Kent and Anthony; to put on makeup, change my clothes, etc. I was going to dinner ala natural until I knew Ken was coming.

As we drove to the restaurant, and I got really nervous when I saw Ken in the car next to us. I knew his car, and he had a uniform on, pretty much a given that it was him. Kent told me not to be nervous about meeting him, I should be nervous because we passed the restaurant, and where in the word did I send Ken?!!!  So we chased him a little way down the road, then into a parking lot, and I caught him. He looked at us like we were nuts, then followed us to the restaurant.  Well, we had a great dinner. The four of us ate, talked and laughed for hours.

Ken called me the next day while I was Christmas shopping with Anthony. We sat on the floor in JC Penney's for an hour while I talked to Ken. He said he hadn’t had that much fun in such a long time, and that he didn’t even sleep that night. Of course it didn’t help that he had to go to work 3 hours after he got home. We did go on our date on December 9th. ( I was early can you believe it?) We met at Cozumels, had dinner, went to the EAB Christmas tree, and drove around for hours talking. We had a great time with each other that day, and I am happy to say that we still do. And yes, we still send each other emails just about everyday, just to say good morning, you make my day, or I love you.  Life is good.
